Hello:

I wonder if you can help? I am a 41 year old professional writer, mother of a redhead baby and the daughter, niece and cousin of redheads. I am publishing my first 2 books in 2008 about the history of New Jersey wine. Most excitingly though, I just signed with a literary agent (Nick Croce) for another of my book ideas, "Red: A Miscellany of the Rarest Hair Color on Earth". I am including your website as a spot for redheads to congregate, as there aren't too many and I love your site.
While the proposal is complete and ready to shop to American editors, we would love to have a redheaded celebrity connection; its a reach, but: are you interested in helping me connect with famous red head? I can email my credentials and the book outline. All I ask is for a phone interview so that I can weave it into the narrative introduction to the book. Or, any endorsement or connection you may be able to provide for me to ask for a nod for this A-List project.
This book is a fun, popular culture reference book, an ode to my daughter Violet, and to the 1% of the world who has red hair. My agent and I believe in this project fully as oddball histories are always in vogue, a'la, "The Roots of Desire" (a more academic view of being a redhead), and for me as a writer, this is the kind of thing I have been writing about for the last 10 years.
I would be so grateful if you could respond with any names, numbers or emails, so that I can connect with that person(s) as an author to amplify my proposal that my agent hopes to submit to editors this month.
